Keeps the little things in mind

I'm currently the landlord of a multifamily building that needed a lot of the types of work that are mentioned in the "fix it" portions of the book. A lot of the small details I wish I knew in advance are definitely covered here. In renovating the apartments to try to get more high-end tenants (and a more high-end rent!) a lot of these tips have been very helpful - small details you get used to looking at make a huge difference to a perspective buyer or renter.
With some of this advice I ended up spending $15 on high-heat paint to change the color of the heating system and a stove in a unit and it looked brand new instead of dated and beat up. I had become accustomed to its look and it worked perfectly, so I wouldn't have thought to change anything about it. I rented the unit out for $100/mo more than I thought I was originally going to be able to ask for, and renters agents had previously told me to lower my price!
There were a few sections were I would have like just a little more detail, but other than that I think this book has a great deal of value.
