This book tells about the first forest and how wonderful and unique all the trees were until some became selfish. The trees were forgiven for their greed but their punishment was that they would lose their leaves every fall and the others would remain green all year.
Evergreens are now a constant reminder to us about how hurtful selfishness and greed can be.

I enjoyed reading The First Forest by John Gile. The illustrations were wonderful and very realistic. I think the author did an excellent job creating a story to explain one of the wonders of nature. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the outdoors and mythological tales.

Did you ever wonder why some trees stay green all year round and others lose their leaves? This book tells a wonderful, interesting tale about how the forest was created, how the trees got to be what they are and about how they fought for the sun. It shows us that we need to get along, share, and be kind to one another so that we can all survive and be happy. Bullies are punished, but still are loved and encouraged to improve. This is a great legend filled with colorful illustrations. Please read The First Forest, by John Gile and enjoy
