As she struts around the stage, stoking the crowd, belting out the songs, her energy never flagging, Paramore vocalist Hayley Williams is the obvious focal point of The Final Riot!, the 2008 Chicago concert that wrapped up the Tennessee band’s tour of the same name. But in fact it is two other, less obvious components, both of them brought into vivid relief by the wonders of Blu-Ray technology, that define the sound: Zac Farro’s drums and Taylor York’s rhythm guitar. The way the younger Farro (whose older brother Josh co-writes most of the material with Williams) pounds those skins, the snare in particular, and the distorto-crunch attack of York’s guitar are hallmarks of much heavier music, from punk to metal to grunge, than that usually offered by young bands with sufficient teen appeal to earn a coveted spot on the Twilight soundtrack (Paramore has two tunes in the film, although neither is performed here); and yet they also have the pop chops, not to mention cute young dudes playing the instruments, to attract the kind of audiences who swoon over the Jonas Brothers, rock to Avril Lavigne, and idolize Kelly Clarkson. So when it comes to demographics, Paramore has it pretty well covered. In other respects, they still have a ways to go; the songs aren’t especially memorable (lyrically, a little less would be more), and Williams, for all her confidence, occasionally sings off-key. But they are still very young--bassist Jeremy Davis, the oldest member, was all of 23 at the time of this gig, while Williams was just 20 and Zac Farro a mere 17--so this band’s future looks bright. This Blu-ray release’s principal bonus feature is a behind-the-scenes tour featurette which, though advertised as a "tell-all" documentary, is little different from the many others of its ilk. Music videos of Paramore’s two Twilight songs, "Decode" and "I Caught Myself," will appeal to the film’s zillions of fans. --Sam Graham

Paramoreのエネルギッシュなライブが観れます。 とても良いバンド、 そして内容なのですが ただ、 カメラワークの微妙さ そして一番気になるのが映像に対してのエフェクトです。 所々、ヘイリーと観客の2分割画面になったり ドラムの音に合わせて一時停止のようなエフェクトがあったり (ドラムの音に合っていないような感じで違和感) 中には好きな感じのエフェクトもあるのですが なんだかカメラワークとエフェクトのせいで ファンがライブ映像を使って作ったmvを観ているような感覚でした。 しかし今回ブルーレイということで、 綺麗です。 これだけの照明や動きなのにブロックノイズがないのは ブルーレイならでは。 今回の★4個はこのソフトに対してではなく paramoreという素晴らしいバンドと ハイデフに対して、という感じです。 特典に楽曲が1つ、 mvがひとつ(解像度低い) 今回のツアーのメイキングが入ってます。 値段は国内のbdより安いので ファンなら買いでしょう。 今後も彼らのbdが続々とリリースされるならいいのですが、 出していかないのであれば 今回の出来はちょっと頂けないと感じました。

国内盤[CD+DVD]の『THE FINAL RIOT!』を購入済みですが、輸入盤[Blu-Ray]が発売されるという事で迷わず購入。感想としては:音質、画質は良いですが、一部カメラワークが悪いせいか、画質が荒れる場面が何ヶ所かあります。[Blu-Ray]盤だけの特典で新曲「DECODE」のPVと新曲「I CAUGHT MYSELF」のサウンドが収録されています。
