オーストラリア留学中に図書館で何気なく表紙のおどろおどろしさが故に手に取ったんですが、英語で書かれているにも関わらず、あまりの悲劇に感情移入してしまい、最後には声を上げて泣いて涙が止まらなくなりました。この内容はたぶん実話だと思います。幽霊やおばけの本ではありません。
そんな感じで、ストーリーがあまりにも強烈なので、英語で書かれていることを忘れるほどです。知らず知らずにうちに英語に慣れるにはベストな本でした。Intermidiateぐらいに人に合うレベルの本だと思います。おススメ！！

こんな聡明な女性が何でお馬鹿な男性と慌てて結婚してしまったのか読んでてイライラしましたが、ハッピーエンドで終わるところがアメリカン。

this is one of the best books i have ever read. these kind of novels make chinese culture more interesting and will leave you wondering how rich yet mysterious their culture is. i would recommend this book to those who are interested to know other worlds and be a part of it. very emotional yet worth reading every word of it.
