1976年、この映画が公開されたのは、同じ年、富士スピードウェイで日本で初開催となるF1グランプリレースのプロモーションを兼ねての事だったのでしょう。その意味で、当時と同じ作品が見られると期待して購入したのですが、パッケージには、アメリカ向けの別編集となっており、少々がっかりしました。しかし、貴重な映像や、音楽は当時の雰囲気をよく伝えていると思います。1973年シーズンを題材としたドキュメンタリーですが、単にレース結果を追っただけの内容ではないです。が、それ故に、当時をよく知らない者にとっては、消化しきれない部分があります(当時この映画を見た日本人の殆どもそうだったでしょうが)。そこで、副音声を聞きましょう。F1中継で馴染みのある今宮さんと森脇さんが、2007年の視点で解説をされています。当時と現在の、34年のギャップを埋めてくれます。この副音声が、このDVDを単なるノスタルジーだけじゃない物にしてくれています。

この映画は1973年F1最終戦ｱﾒﾘｶGPの予選中に死亡したﾌﾗﾝｽ人ﾄﾞﾗｲﾊﾞｰ、ﾌﾗﾝｿﾜ・ｾﾍﾞｰﾙを中心に描いたﾄﾞｷｭﾒﾝﾀﾘｰ映画であり、公開は1976年だったと思う自身3回見た記憶がある、若き日のｼﾞｪｰﾑｽﾊﾝﾄ、ﾆｷﾗｳﾀﾞ、暴れ者のｼﾞｭﾃﾞｨｼｪｸﾀｰ等が登場する、特にJｽﾁｭﾜｰﾄの雨のﾆｭﾙﾌﾞﾙｯｸﾘﾝの華麗なﾄﾞﾗｲﾋﾞﾝｸﾞ、砂浜をｾﾍﾞｰﾙが歩いている時のBGMのなんと悲しい曲か、ﾗｽﾄでｾﾍﾞｰﾙがVｻｲﾝでｽﾛｰで走り去るｼｰﾝは泣ける。

３０年ぶりに見てやはり鳥肌ものでした。
特にソラリゼーションとサイケ調の車載映像とあのバックの音楽は最高で当時が蘇ります。
ツトムヤマシタの音楽が本当に画面にばっちりマッチしてました。
後に登場するＦ１映画とは芸術性という意味で一線を画してたと思います。
公開当時と若干編集が異なるよう（こっちが本来の編集ものでしょうか）ですがＦ１ファン必見の映画です。
