MOAC .NET 70-564 provides the resources that instructors and students need to deploy an excellent Microsoft course. This .NET 70-564 textbook, complete with lab manual, also offers the developer software via the MSDN AA program. As with all MOAC titles, MOAC .NET 70-564 will contain coverage of all certification exam objectives.

Poorly edited, incorrect content in practice exams

This study guide is a joke. I purchased it primarily for the practice exams, expecting it to be similar in style to the exams included in the Microsoft Press Self-Paced study guides. Wrong on that count - the practice exams consist of 5 pre-selected sets of questions, 50 each. So much for semi-random ordering, or being able to do one massive 300 question practice test.
The amount of content contained in the guide is also pretty thin - roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the thickness of a typical Self-Paced guide. I was not impressed by the inclusion of third-party controls from Dundas and Telerik. This is supposed to be an ASP.NET exam, and in my opinion including third party controls is not relevant to "canon" ASP.NET.
My final and biggest problem with this product is the woeful proofing that was apparently done on the practice exam questions. A number of the questions are written with horribly incorrect English - my three year old has better grammar than whoever wrote the questions. An example:
"Which option from should you select to build the project after configuring a newly created web deployment project for a Web site?"
Secondly, I have encountered several questions that simply do not give enough information to even guess what the answer should be. It almost looks like they were expecting there to be some sort of sample code or configuration file sample to refer to, but that example never made it into the final product.
The worst problem with the sample tests is the inaccurate "correct" answers for some of the questions. This guide is purportedly put out by Microsoft, but they can't even seem to get the answers to their own test right. Doesn't exactly instill confidence in my exam preparation.

I received my study guide from Amazon last week.
I knew before I purchased that there were some negative comments about the text, but bought anyhow. I wanted something to read to make sure that I had a comprehensive understanding of the test material. What I received was two thin booklets that are what appear to be student course text. The issues are that the texts are intended for an instructor lead class. The preface even mentions the instructor version of the text that has answers to the questions in the book. One booklet covered the class materials and the other the lab work. While I have only glanced at the lab text it appears to have walkthroughs of basic code building. The labs consist of a walkthrough and supplementary challenge labs. The skills demonstrated in the walkthrough are not what I would consider a skill level of someone seeking a Professional Certification. The challenge labs, that do not have any type of walkthrough but are presented in a paragraph format, are more of the professional type.
The CD that came with the text has some testing software that may be helpful.
The price was outrageous for what I received. The Microsoft Press books that I used to ready myself for 70-562 and 70-536 were much better.
I plan on reading the course manual, but plan on supplementing my knowledge by reviewing MSDN and other books such as Professional ASP.NET 3.5 by WROX.
I would not recommend anyone buy this text. It seems like offering this text is a stopgap solution to Microsoft's `business decision' not to publish the actual MS Press book covering 70-564.

Stay alert, when reading through this. There are lots of typos and little mistakes, in particular in the code samples, that are copied from MSDN without proper context.
Needs some dedicated proof-reading.
