参加ミュージシャンは今回ジャズミュージシャンが多い。
Vincent Chancey、Marty Ehrich、Erik Friedlander、Arron Heick、
Steve Kahn、Steve Nelson、Adam Rogers、他Benjamin Love、Kenny Seymour、
Mike Hamptonなど、Angie StoneやFunkadelicに参加していた人たち。
Bashiri Johnsonは前回も参加していたように思う。
コピペすればその人たちのCDがヒットするので想像しやすいかも。
もしJAZZのコーナーに置かれていて、クレジットが裏に印刷されていれば
この面子だけで買う人は買うと思う。置かれることはないしクレジット印刷も中にしか
されていないからもったいない話かもしれない。
音の感じは今現在進行中のNYジャズや、南米のイメージ。後期Lounge LIzardsやJohn Lurieソロ、ゲレロのインスト盤等にほんの少しだけ感じが近いと思う（マリンバとか）。
イージーリスニングっぽいが、違う。これはジャズだと思う。目の前の街を息づかせる音楽。
前作の「あらし」や「愛について」、「BASSLINE」を再構築したような曲もあり、楽しめる。

この作品を単独で批評することは自分には難しい。
音楽的には…まぁ大雑把に言ってしまえば
LOUNGEJAZZやR&B、ambientなんかの様々な素養を生かしつつ
00年代ぽいプロデュースを意識して作ったアルバムって感じなんだけど、
おそらくこれは氏の父親が発行する季刊誌において現在連載中（！）だという
童話『うさぎ！』内容と合わせて聴かれるべく構築された音楽であって、
皆が求める"言葉"の方はそちらを参照のこと、という意図だろうか？
仮にそうだとしても、彼の最も強力な資質が言葉であるのに変わりはないと思われるので
つまりこのアルバムには｢歌詞｣は無いけど言葉は別に用意してありますという状況な訳だ｡
そう考えると、フリッパーズの1stから一貫して彼の作品及び言語感覚の根底に漂う
ある種の児童文学的な世界観は今作からも感じ取れると言えるし、
童話の体裁を取りながら巨大な何かを執拗に攻撃しているかのような
『うさぎ！』第一回を読んでみれば、いま小沢健二の表現したいことが
単純に「歌詞化」できなかった理由も何となく見えてくる…気がする。
思えば彼がその長いキャリアの中で、人生/恋愛における爆発的な昂揚感を
体全体で表現するスタイル(いわゆるオザケンとしての姿)をとっていたのは
ほんの僅かの間だった。

しかしこの人は本当に興味深い存在ですね。連載に期待して★★★★★です。

なんというか。

個人的には彼の最高傑作だと思う。
というよりも今まで｢詩人｣と捉えられていた彼の｢音楽家｣としての最高傑作だと思う。

これを朝目覚めるときにかけると、本当にいい。
陽の当たる部屋、顔を洗い、朝食を作り、小鳥にえさをやる。
そういった日常のシーンにとても合う。

個人的な考えだけど｢優雅｣の本質は｢のんびり｣ということだと思う。
この作品はとても優雅である。
ただ｢癒し｣や｢スローライフ｣、｢セレブ｣といった怠惰さのようなものはここでは削がれている。

純粋｢音｣から判断できたものか、｢小沢健二｣という作家の作品であるからそう感じるのかは僕にはわからないが、音全体に鬼気迫る執着心や緊張を感じる。

ストイックなのんびり。

優雅に生きる、とは、多分こういうことなのだろう。
