この本と出会ったのは知り合いの家なのですが（それも英語ではなく他言語で）
「地球」というタイトルは結構ありそうなものですが、このように写真集でそれもとても分厚い本ではあまり見たことなかったので見てみました。
すると･･･心から感動するものや感じるもの、涙すら出てきそうなもの、自然のパワーに直に触れる感じのもの。
そのような写真が沢山あってとても感銘を受けました。この本は是非欲しい！そのように思った数少ない本ですね。
残念ながら写真の中には日本の写真はないです。（洋書だから仕方ないですが）そこが少し残念。
「氷の頂上」「大きい青」「水の意味」「空の間」「地球の真ん中」「地球と水の間」「虹の星」など。
各カテゴリーの中に収められた写真に写る自然のパワーを直に触れられる大切な本だと思います。
この本を手に取り、地球という星で人はどのように生きていけばいいのか、そのような考えになれるかもしれません。
この写真に写っている素敵な自然を破壊しようとしているのは他でもない人間なのですから。

The mountains, the deserts, the forests, the seashores, the great plains and rolling hills of the earth seen from above at different times of light are incredibly beautiful in this book. The text is secondary and small , but clear. literate and helpful.
This book is the small treasure which it is pleasure to look into from time to time.

This is a great book with so many gorgeous pictures than are really inspiring... I spent hours in the sun flicking through the pages, looking at the beautiful photos taken around the world.
The only part I went through quickly was the 'mountains' section where it was just too many photos of similar snowy mountains one after the other.
Other than that, I highly recommend it!

I already have the original CubeBook for The Earth and it is truly wonderful. Today I received my order of 3 CubeBooks to give as holiday gifts. Sadly, these were designed for creatures from another world. They are tiny and not worth even looking at. Amazon has the dimensions stated wrong. They are indeed 2.5" cubed. The binding breaks as soon as you open them. Whoever decided that this "mini" CubeBook would be a great idea must have been on some weird, mind(IQ)-altering drugs. I'm sending them back immediately. They are useless. The original version is wonderful though. I'd give this tiny version zero stars if I could.
