Beautiful book with nice extras

Let me start by saying that I do not buy guidebooks to help me finish games. I buy them for the artwork and the maps. I suck with ingame maps. The artwork is lovely, not as nice as the CE guidebook for Dragon Age: Origins, but still worlds better than most collector's editions.
I did accidentally see a spoiler once, which was my own fault. The way they broke out the quests was actually perfect for the way I use the guides. My only complaint is that the book could have used a more detailed index. I loved that the lists of what to get for your companions was relatively spoiler-free, and on pages that didn't give anything away. Also, the equipment lists were useful, especially for the unique sets.
As a guidebook, it served my purposes excellently. As an artbook, it is fairly high on the list, but is still beaten by the excesses of Square-Enix.

Your most reliable companion for Dragon Age II

I don't buy many strategy guides and this is my first Piggyback guide. I found it to be very well written and organized. The authors were meticulous about protecting the reader from spoilers and providing as little or as much information as wanted. Avoiding spoilers is huge for me so I appreciated this.
The quality of the book is excellent and would look great in a bookcase. The embossed cover design is a replica of the tome that belongs to one of the supporting characters in the game and the pages are a heavy glossy stock. The contents feature a lot of concept artwork throughout and even has a section dedicated to more of it. Also, there are comments about the game from the game designers.
Overall, the guide offered a lot of useful information on combat, walkthroughs, quests, items, characters, and more. During my playthrough, I referred to it many times and would recommend it.

Excellent Guide

This is a well-written game guide that finally does what game guide have been promising for years: there are no spoilers!
To clarify, there are obviously spoilers, but before it discloses them, there is a warning. Some sections are so chockfull of spoilers, they just label the whole section. However, as I just recently completed my first playthrough, I did not see any unwanted spoilers when I just wanted to find a map or information on how to woo a particular companion.
In general, the guide does a great job of, well, guiding you through the game. There is an intriguing section on party building and a system of how to spend attribute points, if you're into the hard mechanics of RPGs. The artwork and asides at the back of the book are beautiful and interesting, expounding on various aspects of the world of Thedas.
Though I love this book, I couldn't give it a full 5 stars, due to the truncated Index. There were several things I wanted to look up and yet were not mentioned at all, forcing me to brave a sea of spoilers just to find a specific detail.
