After playing and having a lot of fun with the first set and finally getting my group's characters up to fifth level (including a couple of stumbling blocks wherein someone's PC fell to the forces of evil), I was really looking forward to this set. It didn't disappoint.
There's lots of excellent fluff for the story nuts among us (and I think there's a pretty good proportion of them; after all, we are buying Dragon Age products here). I was especially impressed with the amount of detail available on the Wardens, a faction that BioWare is a little cagey about in the games up to this point.
Mechanically, though, is where the expansion really shines. The stunt system from the first set was rock-solid and fun, and this one adds the roleplaying and skill stunts, which only enhance the same feeling. The system feels like it's really thorough but just open enough that one could easily work out new stunts, backgrounds, and skills and get the feeling of the new material weaving in without hiccups. Some of the supplemental material in different periodicals, like Kobold Quarterly, is also worth a look if you like the system as much as I do.
Thorough, colorful, playable, fun. Well worth the money to me.
