1976の年作品です。キッド・クリオールことオーガスト・ダーネルがココナッツの前に在籍していたバンドの傑作。スイング・ジャズｍｅｅｔｓ７０’Ｓとでも形容したい奇跡のようにきらめく音世界です。発売当時今野雄二氏が強力に推薦していたのが懐かしく思い出されます。つまり凄くおしゃれってこと。全世界中捜してもこんなサウンドのアルバムはこれだけなので聴く価値は充分に有りますよ。

1980年代に活躍した邦楽女性ポップシンガー、竹内まりや・原由子・渡辺満里奈etc.…この辺りの楽曲を好んで聴いていた人ならば、このアルバムはすんなり入っていけるかも。
このアルバムは、その「原点」、というか「お手本」のようなものだ。

オーケストラやブラスをバックにした贅沢さ。
分かり易く、口笛も出そうなメロディ。
聴いているときの心地良さ、聴き終えたときの爽快感。
ポップミュージシャンが目指している「良質のポップ」とは、まさにこのアルバムではなかろうか。
