Last year we started buying the Pixie Hollow book series for our then four-year-old. She devoured them. LOVED them! We have since bought (and read, several times over) all of the books that have been released in this series.
When I saw there was an audio version, I bought it without hesitation. She was thrilled! We'd put in one CD at night, and she'd fall asleep listening to it. They have been a lifesaver for us. Seriously. No more arguing over going to sleep. Just turn on the CD player, out goes the light and ta-dah! She falls asleep, surrounded by the sounds of her fairy friends' adventures.
In all fairness, we've also got the Little Bear Audio CD Collection: Little Bear, Father Bear Comes Home, Little Bear's Friend, Little Bear's Visit, and A Kiss for Little Bear CDs which are wonderful, and the Curious George Complete Adventures Deluxe Book and CD Gift Set (which is not as great to fall asleep to, since they have some sound effects, and the page turn option is a slight pain to remember to change), as well as the Frog and Toad CD Audio Collection, all of which are good. And she listened to them off and on for two years (especially Little Bear). But it never fails, our (now) five-year-old nearly always wants to hear a Tink story before bed.
We'll read a chapter or two in one of the books, then put on one of these CDs and she is out like a light within 10 minutes. I wish they would release CD versions of ALL the books in this series.
If *I* had to listen to them over and over, yeah, I'd be annoyed like some of the other reviewers. But these aren't for adults. They're for kids. So I think it's a bit unfair to rate them low for adult listening. From my daughter's perspective, these definitely warrant five stars.
