1stや2ndの頃の音から比べるとやはりアメリカンナイズされてはいますが、いい曲が多い！1はモロに彼ららしいナンバー。ポップでありながらもしっかりロックしてます。他には3、4、7あたりの全体的の印象が8ビートでありながらも歌のリズムは16ビート、こういうのがソウルフルな歌い方のお手本だ！っていうところを聴かせてくれてます。

1st、2ndも大好きですが、このアルバムも愛聴盤。聴けば聴くほど味が出るアルバムです。これ聴いてまたポール・ロジャースに惚れ直しました~！

バッドカンパニーはもちろん英国のバンドなのですが、どことなくアメリカンロック的なサウンドをしていました。それが本作品においていい形で実を結びました。
聴いていて実に気持のいいロックサウンドです。それにポール・ロジャースの歌声が乗っかるのです。悪いわけはないでしょう!

もちろんバッドカンパニーに英国のバンド特有のかげりのあるサウンドを求める方もいらっしゃることでしょう。でもこのアルバムも中々いいアルバムなので、是非聴いてみてください。

７９年発表の５作目。とにかくシンプルでタイトになったリズムにびっくりする作品。シンセ・ドラムのタムも飛び出してくるぞ！！この時期に台頭し始めたテクノ的な要素をうまくバッド・カンパニー流に消化した１．は見事の一言。代表曲の一つでしょう。そして２．ではいきなりアコギによるフォーク・ロック的な曲に早変わり。前作での地味さがふっとんで華やかさが戻ってきた印象を受ける。バット・カンパニーとしては平均的な一枚としてバッサリ捨てることも出来る作品ではあるが、なかなか味わい深い曲が多くて個人的にはかなりの頻度で聴く作品である。(１．と２．のクオリティが続かないのは事実ではあるが・・・) カントリー風だが、ブリテッシュ臭いバラードの５．などの佳曲もある。何にしてもヴォーカルと演奏が対等になったのが一番の魅力。これぞバトカンでしょう。
