Road to Legend is an expansion to Descent that creates a lengthy campaign instead of individual dungeons. If you or your players are looking for more permanent characters or are looking for the ability to grow more powerful over time, then this expansion is a fantastic add-on to your collection.
The quality of the materials is top-notch, as always. The rules book is large, nicely colored, and easy to read, which is good because you will be referring back to it often. I would highly recommend printing out the FAQ from the publisher's website to clear up a couple of confusing issues printed in the rule book.
There is a good variety of quests, dungeons, and Overlord characters, which helps keep things fresh for any subsequent replays. Overall, Road to Legend is a great expansion and well worth the money.

In typical fashion FFG made a great expansion here, now that i have completed my 1st ed set I must consider doing the upgrade to 2nd ed when its released soon but having alot of fun in the firest edition

Well lets start off by saying my biggest complaint about Descent was a lack of campaign. I hated that I would run through a dungeon and then be done, and the way to continue was not the most enjoyable.
Well my friends, this issue is solved in this. Welcome to Descent with a FULL ON CAMPAIGN!
The game plays well, however there are new rules that you must read before you get started on this game. The manual is literally a mini book, but that is also housing the quests that the adventurers go on.
This game is a great addition, but here it is listed at over 100 bucks! I called up all my comic book stars within a 2 hour drive of me, and was able to find one. They are not being printed anymore (at least until a new reprint happens) so I would advise you to find one and buy it now, or wait and hope for a reprint.
If you are unable to find one, the new Sea of Blood expansion has a campaign to it, however that is my least favorite campaign to run, just a personal opinion. This one seems to work a ton better.
