Great storylines in this one

Long time fan of Joe Kelly's Deadpool run. With this volume, you get issues 0, 18-25, and Deadpool & Death Annual 1998. I really liked the Origins storyline and it's conclusion with Ajax. I can see what parts were adapted into that script that's been floating around the purposed movie. The other storyline, Dead Reckoning, was ok.
The book itself is nice. Its the same dimensions as the others and the spine follows the previous volumes, so all of them look uniform on a shelf. The art inside the book is nice. No bleeding or distortion (I remember 1 of the previous volumes was not a good transfer).
All in all, its a good read and has some good art. Wish the newer books were this good.

Actual story telling.

If all you want from Deadpool is whacky zaany fun times this isn't the volume for you. No shame in it, but this is probably the least whacky I've read the character. It's also got about the best thematic use of Deadpool, using him to explore redemption and heroism. So if you want to yuck it up, stick with Classic 2&3 or DP&C, though if you want to see a fairly mature story about Deadpool with some laughs you'll like this. It's worth noting that essentially this volume is the climax to the long arc built through the previous volumes so there's just a lot of plot going on. Personally I loved it and it helped show a lot of what's wrong with the way 'Pool is currently written, you need character not just hijinks.
