V系のフェスでマンソン対バンするみたいですが
なんかマンソンだけでなく他のアーティストさんの二番煎じにしか聴こえません
OGREのリフとか特に(笑)

しかもバンド音ではなく女性の声やスクラッチ音(?)が多く入りすぎていたり方向性がよくわかりません
それがバンドの方向性なんだ!!と言われたら何も言えませんが(笑)

あと他レビューにもあるようにアルバムの構造がDIR EN GREYの「鬼葬」に酷似している等
もう少し独自の雰囲気が欲しいところだと私は思いました

昔からガゼットが好きで最近の方向性の転換(というより、方向性があるのかないのかも分からない状態)も目を瞑って聴き続けてきました。だってすごく好きだったから。

でも、もうファンは卒業しようと思います。シングル曲以外はなにが良いのか分からない。古参がぐちぐちいうようだけど、やっぱり昔の彼らが好き。
女性コーラスの多用やら、むしろ邪魔にしかならないSE。

でも一度好きになってしまった以上、未練とかからまた新曲は買ってしまうのかな…。

全体的な印象としてアルバムタイトル通り暗いイメージがあります。
喜怒哀楽でいえば怒と哀が支配しているような。
でもそれがthe GazettEらしく良いと思います。

新曲の中では白き優鬱、IN THE MIDDLE OF CHAOS、OGREは初めて聴いた瞬間から気に入りました。
特に白き優鬱の世界観はユウウツつながりということでザクロ型の憂鬱と通じる所がある気がします。

今回、SEが5ヶ所入っていますが、その直前もしくは直後の曲の補足的な役割を持っている感じがします。
なので、例えばバラードの後に入ってる事で、哀しみの余韻に浸れる効果があるのではないでしょうか。

初回特典のDVDはTHE INVISIBLE WALLのクリップとレコーディング風景が約30分収録されていますが、レコーディングの様子はメンバーの表情は映さないよう撮影されてます。それにブックレットにもアーティスト写真がありません。
コレについては不満な人もいるでしょうが、ビジュアルじゃなく音で勝負しようというコダワリなのかなと勝手に解釈し、その姿勢カッコイイと思います。

the GazettEは今のビジュアル系の中で男も惚れる数少ないバンドのひとつだと思います。
