この本の存在はGuthrie Govanによって知る人が多いと思います。
彼の存在を知っているということは、ある程度基礎は出来ているでしょう。
そういった脱初心者を目指している人にはかなり濃い教則本です。
前半はギターを弾く上でのポイントが各項目について述べられています。
いろいろなジャンルのアーティストの名前が例にあがっていますので、
数珠つなぎにたどっていけばガスリーのようにマルチなプレイヤーになれる、かもしれません・・・
後半は理論的な話です。ギタリストにとって、知っておかなければならない最低限の内容が述べられています。
指板上でわからなければ、理論なんて無用の長物ですが、図と数字で表されている嬉しい仕様となっています。

Guthrie Govan proves not only to be an amazing guitarist, but also an excellent teacher. This book will have you feeling inspired to say the least. After reading many of the sections in this book I felt as excited to touch the guitar as I did the first time years ago. Guthrie's love for music and especially the guitar is inspirational. This is by far the best guitar book I have ever read. Not only does it provide excellent technical strategies, but it also gives great insight on how and why certain sounds are produced. The book maintains a light-hearted approach and will not leave you disappointed pick it up if you want to play better.

Guthrie continues to be a driving force in today's guitar world. An inspirational book to beginners and the advanced as well. Great buy that I would highly recommend to any player. Also look at Creative Guitar 2: Advanced Techniques (Vol 2)

The only guitar book even in the same galaxy with this one is - yep - Volume 2! With this book, you'll get the musical benefits of learning NEW ways of approaching fundamental (and not-so-fundamental!) aspects of learning and playing this great instrument, from a world-class player who, thank goodness, is also (imo) a visionary-level teacher. This is *so* much more than a book of "...exercises designed to...." _Creative Guitar 1: Cutting Edge Technique_ is a book of short essays (wonderful, conceptual humor, and the *cream* of an intelligent, thoughtful mind) interspersed with musical examples rich enough to keep you going for as long as you want to go. Long after you're through Vol. 2, you'll be able to find pure gold, again, in volume 1. That's how deep this water runs. If you want to experience guitar playing through the mind of a master player, invest in these books. I doubt that this level of playing has ever before been laid bare (finally!) for us all to see and feast upon. Get yours; take the summer off if you can; enjoy.
