　米アマゾンでは「これ以下なんて、あり得るのか？！」というレビューが上位に来るなど、殆どのファンをがっかりさせた5作目。いわゆる、オルタナ・ロックで、低音の盛り上がらないメロディーが大半を覆う。ブラッド・デルプ復帰も、曲の構造がこうでは効果なし。次は往年のサウンドが来るか？と、次々スキップして行くと、アルバムが終わってしまう。ボー然、という感じである。あまりに評判が悪かったため、二度とプレスされず、各国で絶版に。それで逆に価格が高騰しているという、可哀相なアルバムである。

曲を個々に聴くと悪くないのだが、
アルバムとしての感じがこれまでとは少し違うような・・。
ショルツさん８年周期を意識しすぎたんでしょうか、
少し雑な感じがしますね。焦って作ったのかな。
1はＲＥＣレベルが他の曲に比べ低いし、ノイズも少し入ってます。
10は曲終わりのＭＣを丁寧にカットしてないし。
アルバム全体のリズム隊の音も曲順も、もう少し凝ってほしかった。

新メンバーの参加やショルツさんが関わってない曲をやるのは、
まぁいいが、それならプロデューサーとして”職人”に
徹するべきだと思う。過去のアルバムは時間を掛けた職人っぷりが
いかんなく発揮されていたのだが・・ちともったい気がした。

しかし、ボストンサウンドには違いない。
1なんて３秒で「今回もやってくれた！」と感動したもんだ。
もろボストンサウンド！1は誰が聴いてもボストンだとわかるだろう。
そして、9なんて名曲でしょう、新たなテイストも入ってるし、
進化していると思える曲である。10はやっぱり名曲だと思った。
2も心地よい。4も悪くない。
やはり個別には良い曲が揃ってると思う。
ただ、中だるみする曲順がもったいない。
今度は８年周期なんて気にせずに、丁寧に作って欲しいものである。

　8年周期が恒例化しているBOSTONの5thアルバム。1st〜4thまで、周期は長いがいずれも素晴らしいアルバムだったので、期待して買ったファンは多いだろう。しかし！…

… オルタナ・ロック・ムーブメントは遂に宇宙船BOSTON号をも呑み込んでしまったようである。「Greatest Hits」に収録された新曲からもある程度予想されてはいたが、高音コーラスが全然出てこない。ヴォーカルにはブラッド・デルプが復帰しているが、予想もしなかった低音の歌声に驚くばかり。次にはきっと往年のサウンドが来るだろうと、スキップして行くと、ラストの既発曲「Livin' For You」に到達。アルバムが終わってしまった。

　部分的には高い音に達しているので、「ブラッド・デルプの声が出なくなったから」キーを下げたわけではない。「これがアメリカの現実」なのだろう。早々と廃盤になったっきり、追加プレスもない。BOSTONで検索しても、遥か下位の方に沈む同アルバム。初の「失敗作」である。
