著者について
Goodkind was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, where he also attended art school, one of his many interests on the way to becoming a writer. Besides a career in wildlife art, he has been a cabinet maker, violin maker, and he has done restoration work on rare and exotic artifacts from around the world -- each with its own story to tell, he says. In 1983 Goodkind moved to the forested mountains he loves. There, in the woods near the ocean, he built the house where he and his wife Jeri live, and came at last to tell his own stories.

毎巻はじまりはスローペースなこのシリーズ、今回は比較的テンポよく始まったもののジャラの試合にページが割かれ、本当にこれが最終巻なのかと思ったが、さすがに怒涛の展開ですっきり終わった。
シリーズとしては、ひっぱりすぎな感じがあるので、できれば１、２巻短くしてテンポよく一気に読ませて欲しかった。せっかく面白いのに、やっと終わったという気がしてもったいない。
ただ、どうもリチャードとカーランの物語はまだ書かれているらしい…

Couldn't put it down and Goodkind finished with an expected outcome, though with a little twist. I felt it could have been longer and that it should have tied in more of the many elements of the series from start to finish, but that may be wishful thinking. Not the best of the series, but a strong contender nonetheless. I found the book a little heavy-handed at the end when it came to atheism, but that's not different from any of the other novels since the Order was introduced. Besides which, Goodkind makes some valid points about beliefs in general. I hope to hear more from this author in the future, but I guess he can have a break for now! Also, if you missed reading TINO GEORGIOU'S masterpiece--THE FATES, go and read it.
