COLD HEARTED, WARM HEARTED is a combination of the author's imagination and her observance of life. The title reminds me of the phrase 'parting is such sweet sorrow', in that Ms. Barlow gives equal expession to both conditions of the heart. There is usually no middle ground when it comes to the muscle that pumps life throughout the body, it either feels good or it hurts. With that premise in mind, she shares words that embrace the two different emotions.
Poems 'Magic Memories', 'Stay There', 'Get Over It', 'Strong Love', 'Chocolate Covered Dream' and 'In The Distance' are just six of the thirty-six poems in the collection. They expose the different kinds of love and the mental strength it takes to deal with the loss of them. Also included are musings on historical entities and a general look at the emotional complexities of life.
COLD HEARTED, WARM HEARTED will entice the mind, warm the emotions and compel the spirit to inhale. The collection is thought provoking.

Poetic Text of Love and Life

Have you ever had your heart broken? Most of us have and Barlow gives words to that loss like no other. Her poems relate issues of loss, disbelief and concern for one's well being. The emotional rollercoaster of life is easier to navigate with love in your heart. But most importantly with the recognition that no one can love you unless you love yourself.
Barlow has produced a poetic text of her life leaving us all in awe. The flowing discourse and clearly painted pictures allow the reader to truly feel the passion being expressed. This is a wonderful book to give to a sister-friend that is going through the valley of love.
