「セット・オン・ユー」、「ＦＡＢ」・・・次から次へと大ヒット・シングルを生み出したこのアルバムは間違いなく８０年代を代表する名盤。もちろんセールスのことなど抜きにしても、これは高い評価を得れたはずである。ジェフ・リンとジョージの相性の良さがこれでもかというくらいに感じられるうえ、リンゴのドラムも最高に素晴らしい！「ＦＡＢ」のＰＶではリンゴも登場しているが、もう最高にかっこよく鳥肌が立ってしまったほど。あの、「バスン！」と重みがありながらキレがよいスネアは最高！「ディス・イズ・ラヴ」もポップで楽しい曲だが、胸にジンとくる曲でもある。シングル・カットもされたが隠れた名曲とも言えるだろう。ザ・ビートルズとしてもジョージは数々の名曲を生み出してきた。ソロとしてその才能はますます開花していったのだが、このアルバムはまさに１２０％の力が発揮された名盤中の名盤だろう。

ジョージ→インド音楽→年相応に見えないヒゲ面→胡散臭いという、失礼極まりない"Sgt.Pepper~"以降のハリスン像を築き上げていた私が初めて聴いたソロハリスンであり、彼を大いに見直した作品です。息子が入れるように頼んだ大ヒット曲"Got my mind set on you"をはじめ、インドっぽいジョージが苦手な人にも聴きやすい曲が多いです。彼の曲には、ポールやジョンに無い独特の優しさ・温かさが溢れていて大好きです。もちろん、"Devil's Radio"みたいな皮肉のばっちり効いた曲も！この曲の途中、両チャンネルから交互に聞こえる声が、私にはジョンとポールに聞こえるんですが・・・。考え過ぎ？ダークホース時代のアルバムが再発という事で、実はソロレノンよりソロハリスンを押す私(へそ曲がり)には嬉しい限り。名曲揃いですよ！

買い直すつもりは無かったのですが、試聴してみてリマスターされた音の良さにびっくり！！ギターの音・ヴォーカルがくっきりと前面に出てきているといいますか、何か新作を聴いているような新鮮なサウンドです。内容はジェフ・リン（ＥＬＯ)のポップワールド全開といった感じです。ジョージ・ハリスンの作品としては、凄く良いのですが（特に独特な甘いギターの音色とヴォーカルが全体の音によく馴染んでいて気持ちいい）、ちょっとポップ過ぎるかなとも思う。このアルバムが気に入ったら是非、ジェフ・リンのソロ（アームチェアシアター）を聴いてみて欲しいです。ジョージのギターも聴けるし、本作と双子みたいなアルバムです。
