"Classic" contains a beautiful collection of enduring wardrobe basics. Garments range from a quintessential sweater in aran cotton, to a perfect cashmere ballet cardigan. Whilst accessories include elegant gloves, scarf and wrap. All the designs are worked in a flattering palette of ecru, soft blues, muted greys and dusky pinks, as well as basic black. "Glamour" is a must-have portfolio of sensuous, sexy knits inspired by Hollywood sirens. The range includes a lacy knit shrug, a frill-neck tea top and an applique cardigan with three-quarter sleeves. The "Glamour" yarns are tactile and opulent: velvet chenille, flowing satin and sensuous silk. Whilst each book works independently as a brilliant collection of new projects they also complement each other perfectly. The front sections of the books contain full-colour photographs and the practical sections at the back give complete instructions and patterns, along with all the necessary techniques.

For many years, Erika has been working towards a greater understanding of crafts, bringing them toa new generation. Through her work as a key consultant to many design companies, she has sought to align the worlds of fashion and crafts. The profile of knitting and other crafts has never been higher than it is now,and Erika has played a major role in this renaissance - she is seen by many as a knitting guru for her creativity, knowledge and vision. Erika has previously written nine highly acclaimed knitting books including New Knits, Baby Bloom, Glamour, Classic at Home and Glamour at Home as well as two crochet books, Simple Crochet and Essential Crochet.

子ども向けニットやインテリアもので、すっかり彼女のファンになってしまった私。なので、このような大人（女性）向けのニットブックの発売をずーっと待っていたのです。本を手にとってページをめくると、見開きで１作品、ほんとうに思わずためいきがでるような静謐な写真。片方には作品だけ、もう一方にモデルが着ているところ。どれもいたってシンプルなのですが、魅力にあふれています。１０年後にも、２０年後にもこの本から編むことができると思います。 ただ、意外だったのは使われている糸（糸の太さ）。‘クラッシック‘とあると、きっと中細〜並太の糸が中心だろうと思っていたのですが、超極太の作品も多いのです。それでモダンな印象も受けるのでしょうね。 どれから編もうか、ほんとうに迷ってしまいます。 １５点の作品は海外のサイトなどで見られるのですが、ご参考に使用糸を書いておきます。 １・Cable scarf・・・切れ込みに通すタイプの縄編み模様のマフラー。RYCのキャッシュソフ ト アラン。 ２・Casual sweater ・・・シングル・ポロネックのセーター。デビーブリス・キャッシュメリ ノ スーパーチャンキー（１２ｓｔ×１７ｒ）。 ３・Postman`s bag・・・モスステッチのかばん。（１４ｓｔ×２４ｒ） ４・Wraparaund jacket・・・ローワン スプレイ。（９ｓｔｓ×１０ｒ） ５・Military cardigan・・・ふたつきポケットのスタンドカラー。ローワン タペストリー。 ６・Tank top・・・深いVネックのベスト。ローワン ビッグウール（３〜５玉使用）。 ７・Bardot sweater・・・肩が出るようなロールネック。ローワン リトル ビッグウール。 ８・Kelly cardigan・・・丸首のカーディガン。スナップボタンで留めています。ローワン キッドシルクヘイズ ２本どり。 ９・Mademoiselle jacket・・・リボンでトリミングしたジャケット。RYC ナチュラルシルク アラン。 １０・Slouch socks・・・RYC キャッシュソフト アラン。 １１・Camisole・・・コットンのキャミソール。４プライ。 １２・Silk shrug・・・半そでのちょっとしたはおりもの。Shrug。 イエガー シルクDK。 １３・Gloves・・・RYC キャッシュコットンDK。 １４・Deep-v sweater・・・表紙のセーター。デビーブリス Cathay（２２ｓｔ×３０ｒ）。 １５・Classic roll neck・・・タートルネックのセーター。RYC キャッシュソフトDK.

I found that the patterns were "sort of" classic, but not really timeless. I love knitting books, and buy them like crazy -- but of the 25 books I bought this summer, this was the only one I regretted.Still, others might find that these styles appeal to them. It's a mixed bag, more blah than yippee.
