No matter--between Joe Strummer's marble-mouthed howls of righteous rage on songs like "Career Opportunities" ("The ones that never knock"), "I'm So Bored with the USA" ("Yankee dollars talk to the dictators of the world"), and "White Riot" ("I wanna riot / A riot of my own"), and the furious instrumental assault led by guitarist Mick Jones, the Clash became a hot import strictly on word of mouth--and helped establish the band as one of leaders of rock's punk revolt. --Billy Altman

US盤の1stアルバム。UK盤も勿論良いけど、やはりこっちです。何たって「I FOUGHT THE LAW」、「COMPLETE CONTROL」、「HAMMERSMITH」、それに「CLASH CITY ROCKERS」がある！　他の曲も名曲揃いで、「これはベスト盤か？」と思ってしまうほどです（ジャケットもカッコイイ！）。日産X-TRAILのCMでクラッシュに興味を持った人、特にオススメです。

UK盤に比べ出たのが遅いこともあり、シングル曲がたくさん入っている。White Man In Hammersmith Palaisが入ってるトコがイイ!!UKに入ってないシングル３曲とI Fought The Law,Jail Guiter Doorsを収録しているのでメンバーの欄にはヒードンの名前が書いてある。とりあえずクラッシュ入門編としては最適のアルバムなので聴いたこと無い人は絶対買い!!

cheatが入ってないのが少し残念...。

クラッシュの米国版１st！オリジナル英盤から「反逆ブルー」などのよりヤバめの曲を抜いてシングル曲を加えて編集されたもので、日本じゃ「パール・ハーバー'７９｣なんてタイトルで発売されてたもの。

クラッシュを今始めるなら絶対これ！当時英国のファンに一番人気があった「コンプリート・コントロール」や、その後のクラッシュを読み解く鍵「ハマースミス宮殿の白人」などが入っているのが物凄く嬉しいし。さらに、マノネグラが来日公演で炸裂させた「アイ・フォート・ザ・ロー」がメチャクチャカッコいい。ひとまず、パンクという言葉にひっかかりがあるヤツなら、まずはこれを(何かをウっぱらうなり、飯を我慢するなりしても）買う価値あり。
