かなり楽しみにしていましたが、作りが雑過ぎました。
切込みが入っていなければならない所に、切込みがない。
貼りついていなければならないところが貼りついていない。
結果、立ち上がらなければならないところが立ち上がらない。
これではPOP-UPではありませんよね。

大量生産ですから作りにムラがでるのはある程度理解していますが
やはり、このような「ハズレ」に当たるとかなり悲しい思いをします。
sabudaの本もそうですが、人へのプレゼントを考えている場合は、
差し上げる前に、作品のチェックが必要ですよ。

サブダではまったポップ・アップの世界。本作は、弟子でパートナーのマシュー作。
表紙を見て、甘すぎる感じがしていたので、ちょっと引いていたのですが、
本を開いて、びっくり。今では一番のお気に入りです。
トビラを開くと「ねずみ」は「おつきの人」に変身。
12時をすぎたシンデレラは「ドレス」から「ぼろぼろの服」へ。
ガラスの靴は、足にぴたりと入っていく。
もう、シンデレラという題材が、ポップアップにとても似合っている作品で、
マシューさんが、それを最大限に生かしているのが、うれしい。
大好きな1冊です。

一連のポップアップ絵本の評判につられて買ってみました。プレゼント用ですが、開けて確認をしました。
結論から言うと、先見しておいてよかったです。
ですが、ガラスの靴は透明素材、シンデレラのドレスに本物のリボンが使われていたり、鏡の部分はミラー加工されていたりと、細部まで気を配った凝りようです。
「アリス」にくらべて全体に「キラキラ」感があり、女子ごころをくすぐられます。
驚いたのは、実に多くの仕掛けにアニメーション風の動きがつけられていること。ページの開閉にあわせてシンデレラが煙突の中から顔を出したり、
義姉が着替えにいそしんだり、ネズミが一瞬で変身したりと、自然な動きになるように考え抜かれています。舞踏会シーンではいくつのもカップルがちゃんとくるくる回ってくれました。
繊細な仕掛けなので開閉にちょっとコツがいりますね。小さい子だと壊しそうに感じますが、まず一見の価値はあります。
なお仕掛けの修理は工作用ボンドで事足りました。ヤマト糊だと難しいかも。
