内容紹介

透明感あふれる美しい声が魅力のボーカリスト、A-K-I-のリラックスムードあふれるファーストアルバム。
日本の歌にオリジナルの英語詩をつけ、ジャズとコラボレーションさせた作品などで注目されるアーティストだが、ジャズスタンダードへのリスペクトもとても大切にしている。
人気若手実力派プレイヤーが揃った、フレッシュな一枚で、ジャズビギナー、ジャズファン双方が楽しめるよう、十分に工夫された一枚になっている。日本の曲は、「小さい秋みつけた」など。英語詩で収録。


アーティストについて

子供の頃よりジャズや様々な洋楽に親しむ。幼少期よりクラシックピアノを学ぶ。モーニング娘などのトレーナーで知られる小島恵理氏に作詞、作曲、編曲を師事。大学時代、英詩を専門に専攻、その知識を生かして日本語の楽曲の英訳を始める。社会人になってからジャズをはじめる。自己アレンジ、オリジナル訳詩による、「A piece of fall」 (小さい秋みつけた)が審査委員長及び複数の審査員の目に留まり、プロ対象のコンテスト、横浜ジャズプロムナードコンペティションに2004年に出場、そのオリジナリティ、アーティストとしての個性に高い評価を受ける。2007年さいたまジャズボーカルコンテストにて入賞、ボーカリストとしての評価も得る

寛ぎを感じさせるピュアで伸びやかな声質のシンガー、A-K-I-のデビュー・アルバム。「Seasons(紅葉)」、「A piece of fall(小さい秋みつけた)」、「Usagi/ Pray to the new moon(うさぎ)」などの童話・唱歌に英詞を付けて歌い上げたユニークな内容。存分にジャズ・テイストを感じさせてくれる作品ですが、けっして月並みなジャズ仕立てではなく、曲の持つノスタルジックなニュアンスを大事に生かしながら、それでいて見事にジャジーに消化していることに驚きます。おなじみのスタンダード・ナンバー、「Come rain or come shine」「All of me」などでも彼女の持ち味の丁寧な歌い口、そして趣味のよさを感じさせる唱法はとても魅力的です。3曲ほど参加している尺八の和の響きが独特の緊張感と余韻を生み出し、作品に好ましいアクセントをつけています。心地よい気分に浸れるアルバムです。

いつも家事をしながら、またゆっくりお茶を飲みながら聞いています。窓から入ってくる秋の風のように爽やかでやさしい歌声で大好きです。
