This work focuses on "spoilers" to ceasefires and peace agreements - the groups and tactics that attempt to obstruct or undermine conflict settlement through a variety of means, including terrorism and violence. It considers why and how spoilers and spoiling behaviour emerges and how they can be addressed, and also demonstrates that ill-conceived or imposed peace processes can themselves be the root of spoiling.
