One of Britain's leading and most loved designers, Cath Kidston is best known for her vintage-inspired, colourful prints for the home. Cath began her career as an interior designer before opening her first retail shop in London in 1993 selling vintage fabrics and antique furniture. She now has 36 shops and 5 concessions in the UK, as well as 2 shops in Ireland, 15 in Japan, and 4 in Korea. In addition to their signature cloth prints, the company has developed a wide range of products in response to a growing demand. Everything from bags, cushions, stationery, t-shirts, nightwear and babygrows are all part of the ever-expanding product range. Her popularity has increased year by year since starting a mail order catalogue and website. Cath has published four previous books - In Print, Make!, Sew! and Patch! with Quadrille - and has a very successful stationery line.

表紙のポーチが初心者でも作れます。水に溶けるシート上に25番刺繍糸2本どりでクロスステッチです。30個のプロジェクトで、どのデザインも鮮やかで現代的、どこか懐かしさもある優れた内容です。巻末にアンカーのコンバージョン表もあり良く考えてあります。見ているだけでも美しい。ビスコルヌ（8角形の針刺し）にも応用できそうなので大満足です。手芸好きな方にお奨めです。ユニオン・ジャックのパースとクッション、薔薇のピンクッション、クラッチバッグなどシンプルでオシャレ。花丸！！

日本語版より洋書のが安かったのでこちらを購入しました。説明がとても丁寧で、どのような針や布を用意したら良いか、それらはなんと呼ばれているかというところから書かれていて、初心者でも作品を完成させられると思います。ポーチも化粧バックとして使える大きさで、かわいくて便利です。ちょっと困ったのは、本で指定されている番号の糸が日本のお店ではなかなかそろわないことです。ただインターネットなら売っているので問題はないですが。
