テーマを競合する本の中でもダントツの最良本で、新技術等も取り入れられている。写真やイラストも必要にして十分で解りやすく、これほどのガイドブックはないと思う。

この本は１１章からなりカヌーの作り方とポイントごとに詳しくイラストや写真で説明が記されています。またそれぞれのカヌーの寸法も記されているので気に入ったカヌーも製作できます。又スプリットカヌーの材料として長い木材が必要になるのですが北海道や日本各地の林業組合に問い合わせてみると間伐材の利用として販売しているところもあります。 日本のカヌーメーカー数社もこの本からを参考にして造船している。 まさにオープンカヌービルダー必携の一冊。
