表面的な文法を見ているだけでは分かり難い、C++でより良いプログラムを書くための指針が101種類のルールに整理されていています。
こういうのは今までノウハウや暗黙知としては存在しても、本としてまとまっているのは意外と珍しいかもしれません。
ある程度コードが書けるようになって、より上のレベルにスキルアップしたい人や、チームで開発する場合のコーディング指針を探している人には、最適だと思います。

一つ一つのトピックは簡潔にまとめられていて、著者の意図を汲み取れる上級者なら、スイスイ読めるのでしょう。
『雰囲気はわかるけど、もう少し詳細が知りたいという』中級者には、丁寧に挙げられた出典を読むことで、その欲求を満たせるでしょう。
「C++ In-depth」シリーズにおける現時点での総覧としての価値があります。

アレクセイ・アレクサンドレスクも著者の一人であるため、非常に難解である。ただし、その難解さを乗り越え理解する価値は十分にある。C++のコーディング＆開発ルールのプラクティスとしてほぼ完璧に精査されており、すばらしい。ただ、なぜそのプラクティスが必要かとう問いに、完全には答えていないのが残念。アレクセイなので、そこまで求めるのは贅沢かもしれない。
