Brats in Feathers-Great Book!

An excellent book for those new to canaries AND those who have experience with canary breeding. I would suggest reading it before you buy your first canary, as it fully covers such important information as how to choose your canary, what type of cage to buy, and the feeding and care (proper environment, lighting, seasonal changes, handling, etc.) of your canary. For those wanting more than just one pet canary, Robirda includes a great discussion of canary breeding, chick development, special foods for hatchlings, fledged chicks, and moulting birds (her own easy recipes and seed mix recommendations). Robirda's clear and friendly presentation make for an easy read, with photos to illustrate key points. (Photos are b/w but that's what makes the book so affordable!) With Robirda's guidance, we are breeding healthy, happy, and long-lived canaries. This is the canary book we refer to most often. We recommend it very highly.

I have loved and owned canaries for many years, thus I have many tools for learning the care and breeding of these wonderful birds. Brats in Feathers far surpasses anything I have read by far. Robirda is a worldbook of knowledge and shares such in a way that is understandable to the novice and experienced breeder. The book covers every aspect of the canary with wonderful photos and added commentary from the author that makes your smile. It is a must have for any canary owner or someone who is thinking of owning and/or breeding this charming bird.

This book has lots of usefull information. Not only for the breeder but for the pet owner as well. It is highly recommended that all bird owners get this book. It will make for a happy pet in the end.
