5.0 out of 5 stars ブロンディの傑作デビューアルバム, 2003/2/18
76年のデビュー作でマイク・チャップマンプロデュースの3rd以降のディスコな感じとは全く違い荒く簡素で彼らがまだNYパンク色を漂わせている作品です。今回新たにリマスターされたことによりIn the fleshのコーラスがより美しくクリアに聞こえると思います。ボーナストラックにはプライベート・ストック時代のシングルのみでしか聴くことの出来ないヴァージョンの「X offender」と「In the sun」が収録されておりアルバムヴァージョンと聴き比べできるのが楽しいお得な一枚です。

本当にニューヨーク・パンクの一派として登場したの？と聞きたくなる程ポップな１．で全てＯ．Ｋ．です。３ｒｄあたりからポップス路線を全開にして大ヒットを飛ばすのですが、既にこのアルバムにその片鱗があります。全体的に明るい６０年代ポップスをちょっぴりスピード・アップして演奏しているイメージ。チープなオルガンの音色もたまりません。２ｎｄと比べるとパンクっぽいのは明らかにそちらの方で、３ｒｄで開花したポップス・サウンドがこのグループの本質的な音楽性だったことが良く分かります。前半３曲くらいがポップス、中盤くらいからは、どちらかと言うとロカビリーっぽい雰囲気の曲が続きます。
