The Boomtown Rats were founded in Ireland in 1975. They moved to London in 1976 & came to the forefront of punk rock. Their debut single, 'Looking After No.1', reached #11 in the UK singles chart & began a sequence of 10 top 40 UK hits, all of which are featured here - including their two #1's 'Rat Trap' & 'I Don't Like Mondays'. Fronted by Bob Geldof on vocals, the band's line-up also contained Johnnie Fingers (keyboards), permanently wearing pajamas, Gerry Cott (guitar), Garry Roberts (guitar), Pete Briquette (bass) & Simon Crowe (drums). Simply titled, this is the definitive collection of the best of the Boomtown Rats. With a tracklisting chosen by Geldof himself, it includes all of the original versions of their hits & a selection of classic Rats tracks. 19 tracks. Eagle. 2003.
