アン・ハサウェイ主演、小説家になるまでのジェーン・オースティンを虚実を交えて描いた映画Becoming Janeのサントラ。

「事実を描いていない」という点において原作＆映画本編は賛否両論あるようですが、
ことサウンドトラックのみに関していえば、誰も文句は言えない、完璧なスコアだと思います。

作曲を担当しているのは英米TV界では知られた存在であるAdrian Johnston。
これが事実上の劇場メジャーデビューとなるわけですが、
穏やかさと温かさに満ちた、優しげなオーケストレーションが
若きジェーン・オースティンが過ごした当時のイングランドをも感じさせます。
