   劇場用アニメ『BLOOD:THE LAST VAMPIRE』の“セーラー服の少女が日本刀で翼手（人に擬態し、人間の血を喰らう異形の生物）を斬る”というコンセプトをもとに、新たな発想で繰り出すハイパー・アクション・バトルTVアニメーションのDVD化第1弾。
   第1話「ファーストキス」は、米軍基地のある沖縄コザの町を舞台に、1年前までの記憶がない少女・小夜が数奇な運命の糸に操られるように深夜の学校で猟奇吸血殺人事件の犯人＝翼手と対峙し、そこで謎の青年ハジから血の口づけを受けるまで。
   第2話「魔法の言葉」ではまるで別人のように日本刀で翼手を斬った小夜と、その家族の恐れや戸惑いが中心に繰り広げられていく。これから始まる非情な世界へ突入する直前の序章的存在だが、第1話の冒頭、ヴェトナム戦争の描写から早くも世界的規模のスケールを予見させる仕上がりで、音楽プロデュースにハンス・ジマー、音楽マーク・マンシーナという豪華な布陣も実に似つかわしい。また本シリーズは全体的に音楽を重視した設定や演出がほどこされている。（増當竜也）

私は、好きですよ。
この第1巻だけでは判断しないことをお勧めします。
私は第1話から好きですが。
まず、第1話から、これはただの戦闘モノ
の話ではないことに気付かされる。
これが戦闘だけだったら、ここまで人気は出ない。
サヤの出生の秘密、ハジとの関係、闘うべき相手･･･
これから、それらが少しづつ明らかになっていく。

先が楽しみなアニメだ。

何も気にしないで新番組どんなだろう…って軽い気持ちで見ました。
番宣でも少し気になったって感じだったんですがね？
で、いざ見てみると…珈琲飲んでた手が止まったよ。
何ですかあの素敵さは。
私の心にクリーンヒット(大笑)

というか、世間様にはきっとカイが人気高いんだろうけれど、私は断然ハジ派なのですよ。
凄い私のツボを押さえまくり…。
あぁ、そしてあの忠犬っぷりが、言葉の少なさが半端ないんですがね。

そして、まぁグロイのかもしれない映像。
感覚が一般人とズレてる私にとっては別に…と思えて仕方ないです。
だって、現実にはもっとグロイもの平気でありますしねぇ。
血が駄目なんですかねぇ…いや、でもタイトルBLOODだし…。
ん〜最近過保護が目に付く奥様からは過剰に反応してしまうんでしょうね。
だから奥様方から批判の声がこの作品に上がるのでしょう。

絵は攻殻シリーズを手がけたあのProduction I.Gとあってすごく綺麗です。

ただ、進行がとっても遅いです。
またキャラに感情移入も出来ずに、おいてけぼり食らう事が多いです
本筋はとても良いストーリーなのでもう少し時間をかける所にはかけて、時間の配分を考えてやってほしい。

さらに、バトルシーンも一撃必殺ばかりで劇場版Bloodのように翼手との濃いバトルシーンが描かれてないのがとても残念
突っ込んでくる翼手に小夜が刀を抜いてバサーッと切るって血がブシャーっと出る、で、最後に小夜が何か物思いにふける　って感じでバトルシーンで「すごい！」って感動がProduction I.Gなのにまったく無い。

ただでさえバトルシーンが少ない（３話に一度くらいのペース）のだから、もう少し内容の濃いバトルシーン、迫力のあるバトルシーンを描いてほしかった。
これについては今後（ベトナム編）に期待ですね。

テレビ放送では沖縄編からベトナム編に移り変わろうとしています。
ベトナム編ではまったく違った感じになるということなのでこちらにすごく期待をしています。
