Three of my favorite books.

Armored Thunderbolt, Armored Attack, and Armored Victory. These three books should be bought and sold as a set. The last two books are an amazing collection of development, and wartime photographs. Just tons of pictures, pictures of every piece of equipment used by the US Armored divisions. As well as a ton of pictures of knocked out German armor. They are a modelers dream.
An amazing value. 512 pages, 1200 photographs for $28? I've payed more for a lot less.

Book two of this series is just over the top. Printed on the same heavy weight paper as book one and bound with the same high quality. The sytem of picture explanation and representation is the same with captions and an approximation of a chronological order during the war. The collection of photographs are just freaking awesome. From the US armor side of life every angle is covered and if you like the German armor they are there too. Just remember that the war was going badly for the Axis so they're mostly trashed German armor pictures. From a historical textbook point of veiw go somewhere else for your bulky sentence structure. Here a picture is worth a thousand words which makes it a modelers dream. Don't miss out on a really enjoyable book.

Zaloga' three books centered on the M4 are magnificent and this third volume is exhaustive in the number of photos (almost all of which have never been published before). This is a sequel to his 1944 book and consists of hundreds of photos with EXTREMELY detailed captions. I cannot imagine how long it took to assemble this collection of photos or how long it took to compile the data accompanying them.
This book contains a lot of photos of extremely rare German armor as well, so it's cheap at twice the price. STRONGLY recommend this one, as well as Steven Zaloga's previous two books. These make a superb three-volume set and will instantly make you an expert on armored warfare in Europe during WWII. This is an up-close-and-personal look at the vehicles, places, and the soldiers - it is not a dry history book filled with maps and loads of text, which some people have complained about, but it is absolutely fascinating. I've looked at this book for hours on end and I never fail to notice something new and fascinating in the photos. GREAT BOOK!
