The ideal readers or users of this book are experienced or novice testers who have been testing manually and now would like to automate their tests. Those testers who are already automating their testing using other tools or testing software may also want to use this book as they look for alternatives. This book would also be a good point for test Managers/Leaders to start doing research on the test automation tool that may best suit their testing needs and of course, their budget. JMeter's target audience is the testing community, which is generally not the hangout of developers or technical people. Almost anything one would like to do in HTTP testing will be supported by JMeter without requiring any programming. The user need not have much technical knowledge to work with JMeter. It has a simple-to-use and intuitive drag-and-drop style GUI that helps any non-technical user to get started.

Unless you want something paper in front of you, don't bother with this book. It is very short and 80% of the content is covered in the Getting Started manual. If you really just want to learn the basics of Jmeter I guess it would be a good book, but other than that it is not worth the crazy price of admission. The illustrations would done well and the font was nice and large - but that somewhat irritated me also, given how small the book was, so I felt I got more ripped off.

This book provides a very shallow entry-level review of Apache JMeter. That is it. There is no in-detail discussion of any of the more advanced features and possibilities of JMeter. If you need an introduction to Apache JMeter this might be your book, however for this price I expected quite a bit more.

I don't recommend buying this book. I expected a serious book full of details and this book just doesn't have them. It contains around 100 pages, many of them filled with lists and screens captured from JMeter and very little else. This book is worth 5$ in a good day. Sorry but this is how I feel. I'm certainly going to remember the author's name and the Publishing Company next time I buy a book.
