Better off scaning yourself

Very disappointed in this book/CD-Rom combo. The black and white reproduction wood cuts in teh book were more gray than crisp black and white. The images on the CD are in fact 300 DPI but they seem disappointing. I don't know how to describe this exactly but they just seem lacklustre. I found I could get better images by scanning the woodcut I wanted from the book at 300DPI and scaling it up 200-300% and by making adjustments (on the scanner or post scanning) such as making the blacks blacker and by using a bit more sharpening. That's my experience maybe it will be different for you. I think one would be better off buying the non-CD-Rom version and scan the images yourself.
