ピート・ロックとのコンビでヒップホップ界のレジェンドとなったCLスムースのソロデビュー作。
「今風の音になった」と巷で囁かれていたので、聴く前は少し不安だったんですが、
蓋を開けてみるとなかなかいぶし銀な内容となっています。トラックは確かにカッチリした音作り
なんだけど、無理に派手にした感じは無く、どのトラックも太いベースラインを基調とした
黒さを感じるものとなっています。寂しげなオルガンジャズ風味の6が個人的にお気に入りです。
CLのラップは全盛期の切れを全く失っておらず、どこまでも耳に心地よいものです。
全体を通して揺るぎない安定感があります。手堅い作りだし彼のファンは聴くべき作品。
ただピートとの共演曲が一曲あるのだけど、その曲と比べるとどうしても他の曲は印象
が薄くなってしまうかも。それだけピートとのコンビが素晴らしいという事なんだけど・・・。
リユニオンは叶わないのでしょうか、21世紀にもう一度二人のタッグを見てみたい。
