私はAE初心者で、初めてこの本を買いました。
星を２つにしたのは、素材をネットからダウンロードして、
それらを使って解説されているのですが、
本の解説通りにやってもうまく行かない、
ダウンロードしたプロジェクトファイルに既にすべて完成されたものがあり、
自分でやりながら覚えるという私が望んでいた作業ができなかったためです。
操作がうまく行かないことは私の責任だとしても、私が言いたいのは
要するに初心者が理解するのが非常に困難であり、不親切だということです。

初心者である私がこの本から学んだことは、ただ１つ。
AEではどのようなことができるのか、ということだけです。
それだけでも、私のような初心者には大きな一歩ですが、
読み終わった思ったこと・・・改めて別のAEに関する本を買って勉強しよう、でした。
要するに、この一冊ではまったくもって満足できなかったからです。

だからと言って中級者、上級者向けに書かれてもいません。
あくまでも初心者向けの本です。

とても良い内容です。基礎中の基礎の部分まで丁寧に解説してあり、図解もカラーでかなり充実しています。
私は仕事でAEを使うことはありましたが、意外と基礎的な部分が曖昧であったり、各種エフェクトの設定を把握しきれていませんでした。そのため、あまり時間をかけずに、体系だった知識を整理しようと思い購入しました。

エフェクトを適用する前後の画像が比較して１つずつ載っているので、手元に置いておくと、必要な時にぱっと確認でき便利です。書店で他のAE本と比較しましたが、ページ最後の検索ワード数も他と比べて豊富だったことも購入の決め手になりました。

なんとなく理解している方は、これ一冊あれば完全に穴埋めできると思います。
