本作は両A面シングルではあるが個性の強い4曲が収録され、ミニアルバムを聴く感覚でも楽しめるのではないかと思う。

初めて7弦ギターを導入した#1は今まで以上にヘヴィでありながら、更に進化した美旋律を放っているニューアンセムだ。

なんとなく80年代をイメージさせる#2、パワーと疾走感に溢れる#3も完成度が高く必聴で、最後に泣きのメロディー全開の新たな名曲#4で幕を閉じる。

シングルでありながら一曲一曲が起承転結を担っているという印象。

過去に捕われず挑戦を続けるGalneryusの強い意思を感じる事の出来る作品だ。日本語詞もすっかり一つの武器になったと思う。

もちろん演奏力の高さは言うまでもないが、様々なタイプの曲を作っても楽曲として素晴らしいものを完成させてしまうこのバンドに強い魅力を感じる。

ちなみにこのシングルからは次回作のアルバムに収録される曲は無いそうなので、アルバムを買えばいいやと思ってた人は今作を買わなきゃマズイですよ(笑)

ガルネリウスは1stから長く聞き続けているが、このシングルには衝撃を受けました。

Syuの作り出すリフやソロのセンスが格段にレベルアップしている。
恐らく3曲目は鳥肌モノ。
7分の曲であるが、7分などあっという間に感じさせられる。
メロディも単調ではなく良く練りこまれていると思う。

また1曲目の曲がヘビィーでダークな感じだが、
そこからの曲の変調具合や構成などもかなり良い。

また日本歌詞には賛否両論だとは思うが、
今回は日本語歌詞で良かったのでは？と感じさせられた。

色々と楽曲を聴いてきたが、これ程完成度の高いシングルは初めて。

”過渡期”が悪いわけではない、成長のためには重要な時期であるから。

アルバム[ONE FOR ALL-ALL FOR ONE]は、楽曲"NEW LEGEND"の名に代表されるように、
新しい伝説を作るための過渡期への勇気ある突入であった。
日本語歌詞の導入、ベースのチェンジ、第一の武器であるネオクラ的の次は何か、
意図的に行ったもの、偶然によるもの、数々の挑戦があった。

そして早くもGALNERYUSはこのシングルで過渡期から半歩だけ、抜けたことを証明して見せた。
日本語歌詞は武器の一つとなり、ベーシストは派手なフレーズを個性とし、ドラムと十分に絡めることをアピールしている。

では、曲は？メロディは？ジャンル的な路線は？
演奏力の技術レベルの高さは今更言及する必要もない。最近二作品のアルバムから変幻自在の演奏がバンドとして可能であることも証明済み。ではバンドとして向かう次のステージは？

まず新機軸としては"ALSATIA"がその回答となる。ダークで重苦しい雰囲気を出しつつも跳ねるようなリズム、そしてサビの美旋律。
名曲、佳曲の多いこのバンドだ。しかし、今ままではメロディと演奏力で押し切っていたとすれば、曲の求める雰囲気、ムードを掘り下げたのはこの曲が初めてと思ってよいだろう。結果として、曲の個体としての味が強まった感じである。それだけ、この曲はGALNERYUSにとって新しい。

そして、バンドの王道たる"THE AWAKENING"。
この曲で自分は今まで気が付かなかった、このバンドの美点を一つ見つけた。
それは「サービス精神」。これが豊富なバンドであることだ。
何しろ、ファンはGALNERYUSにGALNERYUSらしいものを求める。進化も必要だが、深化も必要。
"THE AWAKENING"には、GALNERYUSの全てが盛り込まれている。
いや、正しくはそのサービス精神から徹底的にバンドがファンのために「GALNERYUSを盛り込んだ」のだ。
メロディや演奏以上に、曲作りにGALNERYUS的精神に強く感じる。

フルアルバムではない本作は全ての回答とは言えない。
そして、これだけ凄い４曲を聴いても、
まだまだ、"やりきった感"が全く感じられない。

願わくば早く、儲かるバンドになって欲しい。
