Disc Two includes Live At The Wireless (Australian Triple J Radio Session) plus Live at Reading 1996. Disc Three includes rarities and B-sides. Fully remastered by Chris Athens at Sterling Sound, NYC, and containing new sleeve notes by Mark Sutherland, this Collector's Edition has been fully approved by the band. 65 tracks. Rhino UK. 2008.

いやこれは実はすごいアルバムなんだと思います＾＾
当時まだバンドのメンバーは18〜19歳くらいで、まだ駆け出して2,3年しか経ってないような状況だったんですが、それでこのアルバムを作ってしまうというのはやっぱり彼らが相当なポテンシャルを秘めていたっていうことの現われなんじゃないでしょうか。

なんといってもメロディラインの素晴らしさに心を奪われてしまいます。
特に“Girl from Mars”“Gone the Dream”“Oh Yeah”“Angel Interceptor”などではその美メロぶりに心が揺り動かされます。それに加えて、アルバム全体に青臭さと同類のものである初期衝動があふれていて、それらがあるおかげでバラードなどは必要以上に重いものにならず、逆に何度でも聴くことのできる数珠の楽曲群になっていると思います。
さらに“Kung Fu”などのノリの良い楽曲においても、メロディの根幹がしっかりとしたものになっているため、ノリだけの軽すぎる楽曲にはならず、こちらも何度でも聴くことの出来る仕上がりになっていると思います。

青臭さや初期衝動に、しっかりとしていて美しいメロディラインが奇跡的に出会ったおかげで、個々の楽曲群が輝きを放ち、それによってアルバム自体も質の高いものになっていると思います。
特に“Girl from Mars”“Angel Interceptor”の2曲は全ての青春少年に贈るべきアンセムと言えるほどの名曲なのではないでしょうか。
青臭さを十分すぎるほどの魅力に上手く昇華させているこのアルバムは、間違いなくブリットポップ期を代表する名盤のひとつであると思います。

なよなよの声、どこか懐かしいメロディ、それでいていかにもＵＫっぽさをかもし出すＡＳＨの青春真っ盛りな記念すべきメジャーデビューファーストアルバム。洋楽初心者にも、ＵＫの重たすぎる音に飽きた人もすんなり入れる青春ロック満開作。。今でもライブ定番で人気の高い”カンフー””ガール・フロム・マーズ””オーイェー！”収録。

このアルバムを聴いたときに思わず、初期のバズコックスと
だぶって勢いを感じました。ポップなロックンロールが満載です。
ピートシェリーも真っ青なポップセンスです。ファンなら必聴。
ファンでなくとも是非に。
