名前も定かでない日雇い農民の阿Qは「精神勝利法」という一種の癖を持っており、喧嘩で負けようが、笑い者にされようが、結果を自分の都合の良いように取り替え、心の中で自分の勝利としていた…。当時の中国社会にはびこる問題を風刺的に描き、辛亥革命の失敗点を強く指摘したとされる『阿Q正伝』他『狂人日記』『藤野先生』など5編を漫画化。


著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

魯 迅
1881~1936。中国の小説家、翻訳家、思想家。22歳のとき日本へ留学し、東京の語学学校を卒業後、仙台医学専門学校に入学したが、母国・中国の精神改造を急務と考え文学に転向した。帰国後、北京大学などで教鞭をとる傍ら雑誌「新青年」に『狂人日記』を発表し、文筆活動を本格化させていった(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

５つの短編集ですが、４つは１０ページぐらいで終わります。
メインは「阿Ｑ正伝」です。
１００ページぐらいあります。
当時の中国の様子がよく分かります。
魯迅は医者ではなく、これからは文学で人々の心を直していきたいといった志がよく伝わってきました。
名作です。

辛亥革命の頃の中国の空気がビジュアルで頭に入ってきました。
特に世界史を学んでいる学生さんは、読んでみてはいかがでしょうか。
どの短編も味がありますが、『明日』という話だけ意味がよく分かりませんでした。
物語というより、ノンフィクションのようで…。
原作を読んで解説を読んでみることに。
個人的には表題作の阿Q正伝より『髪の話』が一番よかったです。
革命を起こしても、人の心が変わらない限り世の中は良い方に変わらないという
シビアな現実を感じました。
魯迅は、それを見越していたんですね。

これまで、このシリーズの「種の起源」「君主論」「わが闘争」「失われた時を求めて」を読みましたが、
この本は少々期待ハズレでした…。
何が期待ハズレだったかと言いますと、まず、阿Ｑ正伝が「ギャグ漫画」となっている点です。
まるで現代日本が舞台のギャグ漫画を読んでいる感覚がしました。
私の持っている清王朝末期のイメージや、阿Ｑ正伝のイメージとは、かけ離れていました。

次に、「精神勝利法」という単語を堂々と使っている点です。
私は岩波文庫で阿Q正伝を読みましたが、「精神勝利法」という単語は出てきません。
インターネットで「ググる」と「精神勝利法」が出てきますね。
阿Ｑや清王朝時代の民衆は、意識的に「精神勝利法」を使っていません。
列強諸国に侵略された清王朝の負け犬の勝利宣言が「精神勝利法」であり、
「精神勝利法」は、その時代シナに蔓延した「空気」のようなものです。（現代も微妙に蔓延してますが…）
インターネットで議論をしていると、突然「勝利宣言」を出して逃げ出す人がいますが、まさにアレです。
そして魯迅は、それを皮肉ったのであり、「精神勝利法」などと定義し指摘してないハズです。
「精神勝利法」と指摘するのではなく、なんとなく皮肉って欲しかった…。

本当は★３つにしようと思っていましたが、最後の、子供が「つまんなーい」と言うシーンと「銃殺より首切りの方が面白いのに…」のシーンが、まさに私が求めていた阿Ｑ正伝と一致したので、★４つにしました。
