今まで猟奇事件として映画、ドラマで何度も取り上げられて来た「阿部定事件」
その裁判のための訊問でのやり取りをまとめたものである。
この本を読むと、阿部定という女性はよく言われるような特別な性癖や考えをもっていたわけではなく、なんとなく生きてきて最後にこのような事件を起こした女性のように思われる。
訊問の中での彼女の淡々とした語り口がドラマ以上のリアリティを持って迫ってくる。

読後に「今の世の中で発生する事件のほうがよほど・・・」と思わせる本である。
