本書は診断士の特有のギョーカイ用語を、フィクション（限りなく事実らしいですが）形式のストーリー内で使用することで、理解を深めてもらうのが狙い。
なんでもギョーカイ用語を解説した唯一の書らしいです。
イラストもかわいいですね。

本書は、中小企業診断士を目指している方にとっては、合格後をイメージするにあたり必携でしょう。
必要以上に小難しくなく、テンポ良く読めますので数時間あれば読むことができるので、受験勉強中の「箸休め」にも最適です。

また、診断士に合格し、これから独立を考えている方にとっても、「どのように他の診断士とつきあえばよいのか」「どのようにして仕事を得るのか」「どのように次の仕事に繋げればよいのか」など、具体的な生々しいストーリーと、皮肉混じりの鋭い指摘の用語解説によりイメージをふくらませることができます。

一方、既に独立している診断士にとっても、「そうそう」「あるある」と楽しく読み進めながらも、時折「そうなのか！」と気づきを得ることもあります。
自身を振り返る際にも有効です。

本書のタイトルとしては「用語辞典」ということですが、「用語辞典」というより、診断士業界のリアルな姿を余すことなく伝えているプロコン独立開業バイブルではないでしょうか。

本書の構成としては、３０歳の「ヒロシ」君を主人公として、診断士合格から独立、仕事を得ていく姿をストーリーとして展開するとともに、ストーリー中の「ギョーカイ用語」を解説するという形です。

なにより、本書が称賛に値することは、診断士が執筆する「独立成功」本にありがちな建前や見栄は一切なく、事実に基づいた「ありがち」なストーリーであるため、理解しやすく、すんなり独立後の姿をイメージすることができる点でしょう。
診断士が執筆する書籍は、自身の格を気にしてか、著者の「等身大」以上に小難しく、「金太郎飴」のような文章が並ぶだけの退屈な書籍が散見されていました。
しかし、本書は、数ある診断士本とは異なり、あくまでも「等身大」であるため、読者自身に確実に糧となることは間違いないと思います。

診断士資格は、「ラップに包まれたおにぎり」であり、「とったら食える」資格なのだと実感しました。
診断士にはもちろん、目指している方にもお勧めです。
また、診断士の世界を知っていただきたい人にも、お勧めしたい本です。
