森達也には「Ａ」や「Ａ２」などの映像作品、「下山事件（シモヤマケース）」や「死刑」などの書籍と、綿密な取材・論考による作品群がある。ここ数年の雑誌・新聞などに発表された論文を元に構成・加筆された本書は、密度から言えば明らかに浅い。
　密度を求めるならば、それら個々の作品を観るなり読むなりすればいい。
　ここにあるのは、それらを生み出した主体としての森達也の視点なのだ。となれば、浅くても広いほうがいい。いわば寄せ集めの作品群で構成されている本書は、その役割を十分に果たしている。

　人が一つの見方しかできないのであれば、「視点をずらす」ことなんてできやしない。しかし、実際は多くの情報からいくつもの視点を得ていながら、（本書の言葉を通じて言うなら）ＫＹと言われたくないがために他人と同じ視点を選び出しているのだ。
　とすれば、視点をずらすためにはちょっとした自覚が必要となる。
　森達也のこの本は「視点のずらし方」を説いたものではなく、そういう、視点をずらすことによって何が見えてくるか、ずらすことがいかに大切か、を書いた本である。

今は、「ＫＹ」という言葉が言われるほど、、意見が同じ方向に行きやすい社会になっているような気がする。
題名のように「視点をずらす」ことは必要だと思い、期待を持って読んだ。
結論から言えば、期待したほどではなかった。
そして、著者のずれる方向がやや左に傾いているような印象を持った。
そういう中でも、印象に残るところは、いくつかあった。

「やさしさ」「善意」「正義」という「美点」が、かえって人を傷つけることがあるというのは、心に留めておくべきことだと思う。
「わかりやすさ」を求める今の日本は、葛藤やあいまいさを許さなくなり、正義や善意が暴走する可能性があるようだ。

著者と同じ方向ではなくとも、少し視点をずらしてみることの大切さは、垣間見ることができた。

くしくも森達也氏と対談した姜尚中氏が『週刊現代』（3月15日号）に「“KY≠ｱそが正しい
異文化コミュニケーション」と書いているが、この森氏もKYな一人だという。
『A』や『A2』といったドキュメンタリーという畑を、黙々と耕してきた森氏は、メディアの
中ではまさにKYな人なのだろう。
KYがいいとか悪いとかいうものではなく、森氏はあくまでも少数派であり、常にその目線で
物事を捉えてきた方なのだということがよくわかる。
ドキュメンタリーを撮るにしても、文章を書くにしても一貫してかわらない森氏の姿勢は
簡単に述べれるものではなく、だからこそ読み応えのある1冊に仕上がっているのではない
であろうか。
また、本著はどの章から読んでも大丈夫な作りになっているので、森氏の考え方のベースを
いろいろな視点で見ることができ、自分には非常にわかりやすかった。

サイトなどで辛辣な意見が出るのも、やはり少数派の森氏ならではのことではないだろうか。
