変わってない。もうなんて心地良いのだろうか・・・・。SLAYERの単独行ってきました北海道から。このNEWアルバムもライブも本当に期待を裏切らない数少ないバンドです。初来日のときは私も山手線に五寸釘リストバンドつけて日本青年館に行ったもんです。今回４０歳になってしまったがリストバンド作ろうかと思ったくらい異常に燃えるバンド。実はヤバイDVDが国内盤につかなくなったというので輸入盤を待っているのだが我慢できなくて買ってしまった。
デイブのドラミングもバッシバシ決まっています。あの3ｒｄ以降最も気に入ったね。

録音レベルが悪いような気がします。音が軽い。
先日の来日公演で衝撃を受けたあの音圧がないから違和感を感じましたが、そのおかげか
一つ一つの音の分離がされていて、はっきりきっちり飛び込んできます。

個人的には、物凄くかっこいいアルバムを引っさげて帝王が帰ってきてくれたことが何より
最高のプレゼントというか、リスペクトせずにはいられません。

国内盤のほうにＤＶＤが入っていませんが、あのＤＶＤ内容であれば外れるのは致し方がないと
感じました

国内盤の帯はジャンルを記載する欄に「帝王」と書かれていました。この点だけで
国内盤を購入してよかったと思えるほど個人的に、うけてしまいました。

3年ぶりのスレイヤー新作。

World Painted Bloodという名に恥じない爆発力と世界観を兼ね備えた強力なOPナンバーで幕を開け、スレイヤーらしいアグレッションを見せつけるUnit 731やHate Worldwide、これまでに無いほどトムが歌い上げているBeauty Through OrderやHuman Strain、そしてスレイヤーの曲としては異質で実験的なAmericon……

スレイヤーが持つあらゆる音楽性を詰め込み、かつチャレンジ精神も失わず、捨て曲・捨てフレーズの欠片もない最高の名盤に仕上がったのではないでしょうか。

簡潔にまとめられた曲が多く、アルバムを通して40分程なので、ダレることもなく一気に聴き進めていけます。


音質面では賛否両論ありますが、確かに前作や前々作ほどの歪みや音圧は無いものの、あまり装飾されすぎない音がかえって臨場感を際立たせているようにも感じます。トムの絶叫もギターに埋もれず、しっかり迫ってきています。

個人的には前作のFlesh Stormのような、ザクザクに歪ませて押しまくるタイプの曲が大好きなんですが、今作に多くみられるグルーヴや雰囲気重視の曲もとても気に入りました。


最後にいちばんのオススメ曲を挙げておくと、
やはりWorld Painted Bloodでしょうか。
LOUD PARK 09で初めてスレイヤーのライブを見て、そこでのOPナンバーだったので特別思い入れが強いです(笑)
