　イントロから、流麗で死にたくなるようなストリングスがじわりと身体にしみこんでくる。
このストリングスが20秒のペースでずっと続く。これだけでもじっとりとうら寂しいきもちに
なったところで

はなが　さいた　よ
は、な、が、　はなが、さいたよ

　あえて発音を崩したような詩。そしてその詩と完全に同期するタブラの、乾いたような湿ったような響き。
　それらが徐々に徐々に激しくなってゆく。しかし耳を荒らされるような感覚はない。悪いものを
吐き出させるような……。やがて激しさがピークに達した頃、曲は終わる。
いきなり宇宙に放り出されたような、あるいはいきなり現世につき返されたような、ぼんやりとした
空虚感が漂う。イントロでの「死にたくなるような」感覚はうっすらとろけて、輪郭のつかめない、
ぼやけた感情……「『花』を聞いたあと」としか言えない気持ちになる。きもちわるくて　愛おしく　かなしい。


　人種や環境の区別なく、人間の、根源的な、危機感を感じる部分をやんわりと、しかし確実に、
直に掴んでくる。この曲を好きと言う人、嫌いと言う人は真っ二つに別れるだろうけれど、
誰が聞いてもまず「何だこれは！？」と驚くと思う。これだけ音楽がBGMとして大量生産-消費されて
いく中で、そういう、けっして聞き流せない音楽はただそれだけで貴重だと思う。

　スカパラのメンバーは在籍・脱退問わず、そのソロ活動や別ユニットが、スカパラファンの間で
語られることも珍しくないが（一番多いのはやはり、茂木欣一のFishmans、川上つよしと彼のムードメイカーズ、
他にも加藤隆志のLOSALIOS、北原・NARGOのSFKUaNK!!など）、ASA-CHANG&巡礼だけがほとんど話題に
上がらないなあ、などと思っていたのだが、何となく納得。これはあんまり、ポッと語れるものでもない。

多方面でスタジオ、ツアードラマーとして活躍するASA-CHANG率いる巡礼のアルバム。
内ジャケットにも写っているJUNRAY TORONICSを駆使したサンプリングサウンドはとてつもなく優美で攻撃的。聞く前はジャムセッション風のアレンジだと面白いと思っていたが、実際は完璧に計算された緻密さ。タイトル曲の「花」では、U-ZHAANのタブラが20拍ごとの人力ループを繰り出すという、かつてなかったほどの超人的なプレイが聴ける。かといって遊びがないわけではなく、緊張感とトリップ感が一体になったような内容。とにかく新しい。

もうこれ聞いたときに　自分はなにやってるんだろうっておもいました。はじめてbjorkを聞いたときの感覚とにています。ちなみに友人は怖いと脅えていました。怖いと思う人も、すばらしいと思う人も、「なんじゃこりゃー！！」　の一言は絶対言いますね！
