演歌をカバーする、という企画自体は悪くない。
「明菜らしい」といったらそれまでなのだけど、どの曲もそれぞれの世界を
持っているのに、歌い方が全く同じに聴こえてしまうのだ。

それゆえ、最初から最後までじっとりとした暗〜い気分で終わってしまう。

まず、演歌のポプュラーどころを集めただけという感の選曲が良くない。
せっかくカバーするのだから、ファンのリクエストだけでなく、明菜さんの声質に
合った作品を選ぶのがベストだったように思う。

「天城越え」「氷雨」「舟唄」「みちづれ」「夜桜お七」は、個人的にとても好きな
作品たちなのだが、「天城越え」ひとつとってみても、声量が全く足りていないし、
歌のイメージそのものを壊してしまっているようにしか聴こえない。

以前、彼女に楽曲を提供した某有名アーティストが、彼女の歌の解釈にがっかりさせられた
と話し、その後他のアーティストに歌い直しをさせたというエピソードがあるが、
ベストや企画ものはそろそろこの辺りで区切りをつけ、新たに変化した"ニュー・明菜"
を見たいというのが正直な気持ちである。
実力はあるのだから、妙な歌い方はやめて、伸びやかな往年のボーカルをもう一度!!
頑張れ、明菜!!!

期待が大きかっただけにがっかりしました。このＣＤを聴くと、あらためてオリジナルの歌手の方の歌のうまさを感じます。明菜節といわれればそれまでですが、声量がなく、若い時の力強さが感じられません。名曲ばかりなのに、それぞれの歌の良さが伝わってこず残念です。

現在のアイドルと違い、
８０年代のアイドルは歌がうまかった。
柏原よしえ、松田聖子、中森明菜、
この３人は、
人気・容姿・実力を兼ね備えていた人達だと思う。
その明菜が演歌を歌う。
何年か振りに明菜のＣＤを買った。
期待は裏切られた…
と言うより悲しくなった…
とてもプロの歌とは思えない…
久々に聞いた明菜の歌声は別人だった…
声が出ないのか、
高い部分は殆ど裏声でごまかし、
オリジナルの楽曲の良さが消えてしまっている。
ＴＶの歌番組から消えてしまった理由がわかった気がした。
余程の明菜ファンでないかぎり、
お勧めできないアルバムだと思う…
