自閉症の子供に対して、親が家庭でできる最高の療育法が載っています。応用行動分析学（ＡＢＡ）の方法で、親が子供を誉めながら、子供の能力を最大限に伸ばした多くの実例が詳しく記載されています。具体的な方法が記載されていますので、そのまま真似て、自分の家庭で実践できます。重度と診断された自閉症の子供が、応用行動分析学による療育により、社会性を身に付け、他者の気持ちを思いやれる素晴らしい子供に成長した実例がたくさん載っています。
このような療育法が、我が国全土にも広がることを願ってやみません。

5.0 out of 5 stars どの本よりも質・量ともに具体的な課題の施行方法が書いてある買えばモウケモノの実用書！, 2008/10/24
　堅苦しい題名に騙されてはいけない。今（2008年）、日本で手に入る中で応用行動分析の課題が最も詳しく書かれている超・実用ブックなのだ。実に、120ページにわたって詳しい課題が書かれている。課題の内容も、アイコンタンクト・遊びスキル・エコラリア消去・コミュニケーション・教室行動など、多岐にわたる。これを買った人は得するなぁ。
　コリンという一人の少年のケーススタディという体裁をとっているので、この少年の問題に適した課題に重点が置かれてしまっているところは難点だが、（でも、第4章「コリンの物語」の次の章にも10名近い子供への介入課題が紹介されている）それぞれの課題に対するコリンの反応が詳しく書いてあるので、「なるほど、応用行動分析ってこうやるんだ！」という具体的な進め方が手にとるようにわかる。
　学術書ではありません。自閉症児をお持ちのご家庭のためのハウツーブックです。翻訳された自閉症への応用行動分析の本では、課題のやり方の詳しさに関しては、一番です。

訳した方がイマイチなのか？わかりにくい所があった。
他の自閉症の本を読んでないので比べにくいが
頑張れば報われる気がしました。
