私は仕事でPC、そしてインターネットを使用していますが、その規約であるTCP/IPについてはあまりよくわかりませんでした。

本書は、物語形式で、身近な例をあげながら本当に「ゆったりと」学べる名著です。
構成も「○○については△△ページで復習」と随所に入れているため、反復学習にも便利です。

これからもっと専門的な本を読むことになるかと思いますが、わからなくなったら本書に戻って確認するつもりです。

すばらしい本です。
ＴＣＰ／ＩＰの理屈をとても丁寧に、わかりやすく書いています。
これまで入門書というと、
（１）説明の手抜きをして、内容の正確さを犠牲にしている
（２）入門書のふりをして、実は難しい専門書である
のどちらかでした。
本書は、ＴＣＰ／ＩＰの概念に的を絞り、
これでもか、これでもかという感じで
とことん丁寧にわかりやすく説明しています。
しかも、学問的な正確さもほとんど犠牲にしていません。

熊や鳥を登場人物に見立てたり、比喩話が少し冗長だったり、
余計な小細工と思われるところも確かにあります。
しかし、本書全体を貫いている明快なコンセプトと、
著者の丁寧な仕事ぶりには、脱帽です。

実は私もパソコン関連書の編集に携わっていますが、
同じ業界の人間として、
この書籍には心から拍手を送りたいと思います。
久々に感動する書籍に出会いました。
ありがとうございました。

その分野のプロや専門家が書く入門書というのは、入門書と称しながら、
なかなかそうなっていないものが多いけれども、この本はまさに初心者のことを配慮して
わかりやすく丁寧に構成されています。これからの書かれるであろう多くの入門書にも、
この本が手本となることを望みますね
